  2. Our math series tells us to allow children to count witih their fingers either way, however the children using the way you show above have a hard time with quick counting!

  3. PS...we've done it with partners using paint. Then we hang them up as posters to use when we do our math routines. I like the individual idea here! They could each make their own book for self-practice! Thanks for this idea as well as many others that you've shared!

  4. I love your blog. I can see a few of my kids doing that with this assignment. I have one that always uses her middle finger for counting a one on her hands. It's very hard to keep a straight face when it happens. I have tried working with her to use her index finger but she somehow always finds it easier to use her middle finger instead. Any tips on how to guide her in a different direction when counting on her fingers? Thank you for sharing your wonderful and creative ideas (and a few giggles along the way).
