Penguins

I copied this idea from Mrs. Ramseier (amazing kindergarten teacher) that I work with.  The penguins are life size, and the students think it is so cool to see if they are bigger than the Emperor Penguin.

  1. We do a penguin unit with Antarctica and this is a great idea to incorporate with this theme! I love it. Could you tell me how she made the penguins? Did she use a template on an overhead projector?

  2. Awesome! I made some penguins sort of like this a few years ago and my K's love to compare their selves to them.

  3. I had clip art of the different penguins and I used overhead projector to blow it up. Then I used chalk to color it in. I think the chalk looks nicer and it does not fade as fast. If I can find the penguin clip art I will post it on my teacher website. I do not know how to add them to my blog yet!

  5. I hate to be the one to point this out, but you've confused your Chinstrap penguin with your Northern Rockhopper. Chinstraps have the black strap under their chins and Rockhoppers have the yellow feathers on their heads. Thought you'd want to know. P.S. We ALL make mistakes sometimes :)

  6. Love these, but I have no place to display them. Would love to have those closets!
