Hand-made Holiday Ornaments

All I want for Christmas....is hand-made ornaments
from my child.  I just LOVE them!
The students had fun posing for our Holiday Photo Booth.
Sorry...I do not remember where I got the props from!
I BELIEVE....their favorite part of the activity was painting the wooden sticks!
They do not get to do this enough!  Bah Humbug!!!

The students had a "SNOWFLAKIN'" good time making these ornaments.
Let it snow....Let it snow....Let it snow....NO REALLY!!!
We live in Wisconsin and we still do not have any snow.

My son, Cayden, had to get into the fun too!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Reindeer Fun

To go along with our Reindeer Literacy and Math Centers in an earlier post, my kindergarten students enjoyed learning about reindeer this past week.  We read the nonfiction book, Reindeer(A Day in the Life:  Polar Animals) to learn some new information about this interesting mammal.  The kiddos are currently writing an informational book about reindeer, using facts that they learned after listening to me read the book.  I will share some of the pages of their books after they complete them.

To have a little fun with reindeer art, I used the ArtventurousBlog to guide our project.  We drew our reindeer step-by-step with crayons.  Then we used a blue watercolor wash to finish off our artwork.  I was amazed at how well the students were able to draw their reindeer.  Each picture was so unique and so darn cute!  Here are a few of our masterpieces…

Are they stinkin' cute or what?
I was pretty impressed with their kinder skills!
